An interactive travel planning platform for crafting and sharing cultural journeys across Romania
The Challenge
Integrating diverse mapping services, lodging and activity databases required a unified API delivering accurate location data and live availability. We also needed a flexible recommendation engine to generate tailored cultural routes based on user profiles and preferences and a dual-role system allowing businesses to add listings and travellers to plan, modify or export itineraries seamlessly
Our Solution
We delivered a large-scale web portal built with React on the front end and PHP on the back end. The portal is divided into user and business modules, featuring interactive Mapbox maps with route-based code splitting for fast load times. The itinerary builder supports drag-and-drop editing, PDF export for printable maps, and social sharing. Business users manage listings, availability, and analytics through a dedicated dashboard, while administrators control events, content, and user permissions via a custom CMS.
